focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning…

Oh, Happy Days!

Oh, Happy days are here again.

From next Tuesday (the 2nd of June) our bars, cafes and restaurants will be allowed to open again.

There will be certain restrictions…

Cafes, bars and restaurants can reopen with restrictions from next week. Staff must wear masks and customers must also wear masks when moving around.

There must be a distance of a metre between tables and no more than 10 people can sit at any one table.

10835249_1564522840459776_1969351559241779228_oI can live with that!

That sort of means that, this time next week I can be sat on the terrace of my favourite bar…

Which also happens to be my betting shop…

Eating a Galette Andouille Breton (a sort of pig’s bottom pancake/crepe) and drinking a nice cool glass of wine without worrying about getting arrested!

Happy days are certainly here again.

Compass Ratings

Compass-RatingsI’ve managed to generate the Hong Kong ratings for this Sunday’s races at Sha Tin a day early.

The link to this Sunday’s ratings at Sha Tin (top 3 rated horses) is here… http://compassratings.com/data/compassratings-2020-05-31.pdf

The link to this Sunday’s ratings at Sha Tin (all horses) is here… http://compassratings.com/data/compassratings-full-2020-05-31.pdf

I haven’t been able to have a good look at them yet but…

Just looking at the confidence levels of the top rated horse, the 4th race of the day looks kind of interesting to me.

The 9th race of the day (a Group 3 handicap) also looks quite promising.

Spotlight Ratings

There are no Spotlight Ratings for today.

There is one Group 3 race at Doomben (AUS) first thing Saturday morning.

The Spotlight Ratings for Saturday are here… http://spotlightratings.com/data/SpotlightRatings-2020-05-30.pdf

I am still hoping to be able to create ratings for the Japanese Derby on Sunday.

Something to make you smile…

Your dad’s wine jokes

What did the grape say when the elephant stood on it? Nothing, it just let out a little wine.

I’ve trained my dog to bring me a glass of red wine. It’s a Bordeaux collie.

I’m a wine enthusiast. The more wine I drink, the more enthusiastic I get.

I was having wine with my wife when she said ‘I love you so much, you know. I don’t know how I could ever live without you.’ I said, ‘Is that you or the wine talking?’ She said, ‘It’s me talking to the wine.’

Love the wine you’re with.

What do you call a wine hangover? The grape depression.

What’s the secret to enjoying a good bottle of wine? Open the bottle to let it breathe. If it doesn’t look like it’s breathing, give it mouth-to-mouth.

If you can drink away your hurt, it must have been champagne.

Wine improves with age. I improve with wine.

How do you decide how much wine to drink? Take it on case-by-case basis.

What do you call a grape that is an anti-diuretic? Pinot More.

Did you know wine doesn’t make you fat? It makes you lean…against tables, chairs, floors, walls and ugly people.

It’s funny how 8 glasses of water a day seems impossible but 8 glasses of wine is a sign of a good meal.

The first thing on my bucket list? To fill the bucket with wine.

We have an open-door policy. Show up with wine, and we’ll open the door.
